Overview
This Privacy Policy describes the general policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and sharing of Personal Data (defined below) by Sherri Larson., on behalf of itself, its subsidiaries, and its affiliated clinical practices through the Sherri Larson website at https://www.sherrilarson.com/ (the “Website”), the Sherri Larsion patient portal at client.Sherri Larsion.com, the Sherri Larsion mobile application, and through our services and programs including but not limited to Sherri Larsion Video Telehealth (all hereinafter collectively, "Platforms").
If you are using our Platforms in connection with a service covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, as amended (“HIPAA”), please refer to our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we use and disclose your protected health information (“PHI”) and your rights with respect to your PHI. In connection with HIPAA covered services, in the event of a conflict between this Privacy Policy and the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices will control.
What Data We Collect and How We Use It
We collect information, as described further below, that may identify, relate to, describe, or is reasonably capable of being associated with a particular individual or household (“Personal Data”) for various purposes, including to provide and improve our services and the Platforms. We collect Personal Data from you directly, including when you interact with or provide information through our services, register for or create an account (including mobile app accounts), submit forms or information to us, purchase or subscribe to any products or services or otherwise transact with us, and correspond directly with us. We may also collect information indirectly from you, including information collected in the course of delivering services and information collected automatically through use of our Platforms. We may also receive Personal Data about you from other sources, including third parties, business partners, our affiliates, including affiliated Sherri Larsion providers, or publicly available sources.
The Personal Data we collect from or about you may include the following categories. Note that, to the extent any such information constitutes PHI, such data is subject to our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
Account and Service Registration Data.
This allows us to contact you about our services and assign you to a therapist who accepts your insurance.
Our Platforms may ask request certain information that we can use to contact you or understand how we can best provide you with services (“Account and Service Data”). Account and Service Data may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, and telephone number. When you create an account and sign up for the services, we assign you to a mental health professional using the information you provide to us. We may use artificial intelligence (as further described in the below AI Features section) to assist in assigning to you to a mental health professional. If you find that your mental health professional does not meet your needs, you may select a different one. Additionally, when you create an account with Sherri Larsion, we collect information directly from you, such as credit card information and details about your insurance. We may also use Account and Service Data to provide you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be helpful to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by hitting the unsubscribe link or following the unsubscribe instructions provided in any communication we send. Note: You are unable to unsubscribe from service messages regarding your account, updates from your Sherri Larsion provider, and updates to the Platforms.
